The Nelson Waterfront The last years Nelson has experienced a building boom. Most of the poor Nelson Market Stallholders were driven out of their houses to make place for huge new developments. Some of those developments are nice and some are just made for the quick dollar, neglecting the fact that they are not matching with their surroundings. Have a look yourself, and we appreciate if you could let us now your opinion in our poll.

Blossom festival at Miyazu Garden As you drive into Nelson on the Atawhai side, there's a little slice of Japan offering a quiet place for a stroll or a spot of contemplation. The Miyazu Garden celebrates Nelson's relationship with its Japanese sister city. As soon as you walk through the gate made from old timber recycled from the port, the street noise is screened out with an immediate feeling of enclosure.
