A mountain vacation is a perfect option if you’re looking to escape the cold this winter. It’s even more stress-relieving if you take a Sweden hot air balloon before hiking. If you’re planning on taking a winter mountain vacation, you’ll need to ensure you have the right gear. The cold weather can be unforgiving, so it’s a must to come prepared. That’s why we’ve compiled all the essentials you need to bring with you on your trip. From clothes and equipment to food and first-aid supplies, we will cover everything. So read on and get ready to hit the slopes.

Layered Clothes

clothesLayering clothes is a good rule of thumb for staying warm in the winter. You need to begin with a base layer of long underwear. This will help wick away sweat and keep you dry. Next, add a middle layer of insulation. This can be a fleece jacket or sweater. For your outer layer, choose a waterproof and windproof jacket. Make sure to pack gloves and a hat as well. Another thing that you need to pack is the spare clothing. Start by packing extra socks.

You’ll also want to pack a spare set of long underwear in case yours gets wet. And finally, don’t forget to pack a change of clothes for the après-ski.

Insulated Hiking Boots

Believe me, you don’t want to see your feet freezing in the snow. That’s why you must ensure you have a good pair of insulated hiking boots. These will keep your feet warm and dry while on the trails. Make sure to pack extra socks as well. You’ll also want to bring along some hand and toe warmers for extra warmth. In fact, it’s a good idea to pack extras of everything. If something gets wet or lost, you’ll have a backup.

First Aid Kit

We never know when we might need a little first aid. That’s why it’s always a good idea to bring along a small first-aid kit. You’ll want to pack pain relievers, antiseptic wipes, and bandages. Don’t forget to pack any prescription medications you might need as well. Adding a small survival guide is also quite handy. This will come in handy if you find yourself in an emergency situation.

Survival Gear

mountainNot only do you need to pack a first-aid kit, but you also need to pack some survival gear. This includes items like a flashlight, matches, and a whistle. You’ll also want to bring along a small stove and some food. This will come in handy if you find yourself stranded on the mountain. Aside from that, if you’re going to go overnight hiking, be sure to get your sleeping bed, sleeping pad, and lightweight tent body prepared. This way, you can make your own tiny home away from home.

So there you have it, everything you need to pack for a winter mountain vacation. Just remember to layer your clothes, bring along extra socks and long underwear, and don’t forget the first-aid …
